AURA INN MONTEREY, Monterey – Your ideal downtown stay

The hotel is conveniently located near the center and the sea, with a small shopping center and restaurants just across the road. The rooms are clean, quiet, and spacious, perfect for families, although there was a musty smell initially and we had to wait over an hour for our room after arriving at 4:00 pm. The service was exceptional, with staff going above and beyond, even switching us to a ground floor room. Overall, a reasonable place to stay in the Monterey/Carmel area.

My weekend at this hotel in Monterey was just what I needed. The rooms were clean and spacious, but the building and carpet showed signs of age. Facing directly to the road was a drawback. The Mexican restaurant, Sarita's, recommended by the manager, was very good and nearby. The hotel service, overall, was nice but not very friendly and welcoming. The location, though changed last minute, turned out to be good with a small shopping center and restaurants nearby. The dining experience, like the room, was basic but acceptable. Facilities were satisfactory, but nothing exceptional.

I couldn't have asked for a better deal! The hotel is just next to the swimming pool at a cheap price, which was great for a budget stay. The rooms were very clean, large, and updated, making my stay super comfortable. The service really stood out as exceptional, and the staff, especially at the reception, were very helpful and accommodating. The location was good with a small shopping center across the road, although it was a shame breakfast wasn't available during my stay. Overall, a great choice for budget travelers.
